The Great Green Gigantic Idea

Fregoli presents a street theatre show, created from children’s ideas around climate change and positive action, which debuted at the inaugral Galway Climate Inspirations Festival in September 2024. Liath wants concrete the world, Giorra follows orders, and Eanin cares for the flowers and the birds. Can Eanin remind them of what makes a home before it is too late? “Cross Street”

“It’s as good a night as any for a house meeting. We’re all trapped inside, anyway…”

Cross Street is written by Jarlath Tivnan (Pleasure Ground, You Could Be Us) and directed by Eimear Finan. This insightful new play explores the meaning of home, layering drama with hints of horror and Fregoli’s trademark heart and humour to create a moving piece of theatre.

Roscommon Arts Centre Residency

Our residency for 2020/2021 in the Roscommon Arts Centre is based around the theme of Finding Home, a vital topic in our current climate. Due to the pandemic, our plans changed and adapted - we experimented with online/digital theatre to share new work and connect with our audiences.

2020: We presented a virtual work-in-progress of our new play, Cross Street, and produced numerous video digital projects including I Want You to Know Me, Inside You Stay and community project Home for Christmas.

2021: We have produced two new audio works - Castle Island Tales and Skies. We also developed a new street performance work - Angels. Angels was performed in Boyle, Co. Roscommon on the 5th of August, as part of Boyle Arts Festival 2021.

This November, Cross Street, is returning as a fully produced stage play and debut at Roscommon Arts Centre. Preview: Wed 24th Nov 8pm. Running Thurs 25th – Sat 27th Nov 8pm. Tickets now available!

During our residency in the Arts Centre, we have also been able to grow through a series of professional development workshops and talks with well respected theatre practitioners including Raymond Keane (Barabbas Theatre Company) Annie Ryan (Corn Exchange), Debbie Wright (Turas Theatre Collective) and Roberta Carreri (Odin Teatret).
